As I woke up this morning I was surprised by the peace I felt. My oldest son David got home yesterday from his mission trip in Kenya safe and sound, which is a big part of that. My new business venture is starting to really take a life of it’s own and I am beginning to see how it can work and be successful. Kids are back at school this week (Yippee!), we will have a schedule again! For the moment all is well, all is good. Everything seems to be in place, stars are aligning…It is easy to find peace and joy today, to rest in his love. But you know, as my father has always said…”Just when you get all your ducks in a row, one will step out!” (father of 4 girls) And he is right. To think that the stars will stay aligned and the ducks will behave is unrealistic. I guess the point of today for me is that no matter what the circumstances are that my heart stay settled and that I choose to love and trust God no matter what. His plan for my life is greater than anything I could plot out or imagine.
So, I will embrace the ease of today as a gift, knowing that tomorrow a duck might take a step out of line or a star might shoot off into another direction. And I will not lose sight of the fact that we have a daily choice to make, whether it be…. minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day…to let our heart, mind and body rest in God.
