Ready set go! The Season has started…..For some, Christmas is a time of joy and celebration for others it will be difficult to find the joy, much less the meaning. This year I want to challenge myself and others to be INTENTIONAL. Today, put your heads together as a family and start to think about what will make this Christmas a Gentle, Meaningful Christmas. If you don’t make it a priority it won’t happen, the season takes off like Santa’s Sleigh and before you know it you are toasting in the New Year! Just think of three things that you can do to keep it simple, then remember that self care the best gift you can give yourself!
List three things that your can do to keep it simple during this Christmas Season.
1.
2.
3.
May you sleep and sleep well, a good night sleep will keep your mind clear and your heart settled……….
In the Psalms it says….
I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone make
me dwell in safety.
In the morning, O Lord you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation, because my hope is in you.
A few ways to make sure you get enough sleep are
1. Do something physical during the day, BUT don’t work out late into the evening.
2. Dim the lights, light a candle and set a relaxed tone for the evening. Turn off the TV.
3. Skip the coffee late in the day.
4. Watch your alcohol intake, it is a stimulant and will help go to sleep hard but then you will wake up stirred in the middle of the night.
5. Clean sheets, whatever makes your bed feel yummy!
6. Sleepy time tea.
7. A hot bath with some of your favorite music, maybe even some Advent tunes to get you in the spirit!
8. Clear the DECKS! If your head is spinning, clear those thoughts! If needed review them, set priorities for the next day before hitting the bed, and then PARK them at bedtime.
Be intentional about how you want your Christmas to look. Keep meaning, balance and joy in within yourself and your home!
