It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, well feel like it! Yes, the air is cooler but mostly because I had all my babies under one roof last night! Okay, babies might be a stretch since 3 out of 5 have facial hair! There is nothing like having all your children (and a few friends) home laughing, eating, playing, fussing and finally sleeping.
They are the best gifts ever given to me, even when they are loud….as the Grinch say, “The Noise, Noise, Noise!” (this is from the non-facial hair one mostly, the minority of the group, in a word GIRL) Even when they fuss and fight with each other ( the under 5 foot group). Even when their things clutter the house, more dishes in the sink and the “laundry mountain” grows higher and higher, and your house starts to look more like a dorm room with “Claytor Brew” bottles scattered around (the bearded ones). Even when we barely all fit under this roof, let’s just say tight fit is better than no fit!
There is something about us all being together. Who we are as individuals and what we create when we are together as ONE family. Not perfect, in fact far from it, but just right. There is comfort in knowing you are loved unconditionally. I also believe that there is an exhale of safety within the walls of being able to just be who you are, with no perceptions or pretenses. Back with your tribe, the ones who always let you in and love you for you. There is a joy and deep love that makes this house and home when all the babies are back under one roof!
Yes, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
