What a week last week and then the COLD weekend! I don’t think I have been warm in a week and I am in my mid 40’s, I am always HOT! Somewhere I think there is a balance, but as you know balance in anything is hard to come by. Whether dieting, exercising, family time, me time, work and even the weather right now. Balance once in place is hard to maintain. Oh, I think you can create a fairly good schedule and routine, having systems in place that help keep you close to being “in” balance. But I believe the big shift in thinking is awareness, keeping your eyes and heart open to all that is going on daily within your life and your response to it. Not going to sleep at the wheel.
Okay, that is not really where I was going. It’s early and the beginning of a new week so I am pondering last week and all I need to prepare for this week. It is going to be a busy one and I am up early thinking about how to keep balance (and warm) this week!
Some of the highlights of last week were……Watching my children extend grace with one another. We all blow it from time to time but when grace is at work within your home, love and forgiveness can exist under your roof……WooHoo!
We ( Jackson, Grace and I) wrote out and discussed our new years goals. The main theme is the four B’s.
Be nice and easy
Be respectful
Be-have
Be Happy
Simple but a lot fall under these B’s. Think about it. The other take away from the week was as I was sitting in the make-up chair getting ready to tape The Good Life for channel 45. There was this wonderful girl who was there to repair, I mean touch up what I already had applied. Now those who know me know that I am not a BIG make up person. I have freckles that you can’t really cover unless you use spackling. But I was amazed at how good she made me look! She commented on how you can always make the outside look good, just like an old tea cup in need of polishing. But no matter how beautiful the outside is if the inside is dirty, caked and stained with unforgiveness, anger, fear or bitterness it really doesn’t matter. True beauty comes from deep within. Thanks Kari for the reminder and making me look like a well care for and loved tea cup, beautiful on the inside and out. You took care of the outside while God is always polishing and repairing the inside! What a team you two make.
Okay, let the new week begin! One foot in front of the other. Prayers lifted up and requests laid down, remembering what I tell my children, Just Do Your Best…..God is faithful to take care of the rest.
