Ducks and Dragons!

You know the moment when life seems really good, well and balanced. It is when my Dad would say, “All my ducks are in a row…”. Yet you are left wondering if it is okay to exhale, relax and enjoy the moment? For you know that one of those web footed quack-ers will step out of line soon enough.  Life happens so daily and at times living within the struggles can be so difficult and constant that the feeling of peace can seem so odd, even feel a bit uncomfortable. When we have been living on the adrenaline of dragon slaying daily it can be hard to sit and accept that there is not a dragon to slay today.

Well, that is how I feel this morning. Being a single mom, having my own business, juggling all that life throws at you can be tricky and tends to make me weary at times. But today is an dragon-less day. Life is good, not perfect but good. Let me throw a few words out to describe… Health, love, beautiful day, kisses, cool air, bills paid, coffee, happy children, church community, no clock to watch, fuzzy dog, music, grace and unconditional love from a God who never leaves even when the ducks are running amok or are all lined up. Yes, this morning I am exhaling and having a Sabbath moment. Allowing God to fill me up with all I need for whatever tomorrow holds….Both hands on the “Cup” and plan on drinking every last drop!

Today I will be fearless, free and open to all he wants to pour into me and with great thanks I will say….”Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me bless his Holy name; for better is one day in His courts that a thousand else where’s! And because of His great love I am not consumed today, for He is my portion and that is enough to satisfy me, fill me and give me what I need to slay the next dragon that comes down my path!”

Today as I rest, roll and nest in this wonderful day filled with peace, love, rest and joy… let the ducks dance and dragons beware I know where my strength comes from and it’s always there!
