The Waiting Room and Hallways……

Posted by on Jan 19, 2011 in General | 1 comment

I love my girls group and this season we have so many new interesting girls to bring real, honest challenging discussion to the hour we meet. Today we were discussing the book, One Month To Live, Thirty Days to a No-Regret Life by Kerry and Chris Shook. We talked about risk and the areas in our life that we tend to “Play it Safe”. Yes, even me the cannon-baller has an area where I choose to stay on the dock and play it safe. We winced at the thought of the pruning process stages of our lives. OUCH! We also talked about dreams, what...

My Will or Yours?

Posted by on Jan 13, 2011 in General | 0 comments

Last night I asked a group in my workshop, “Do you really trust God’s will for your life?” I had a very smart (and a bit sassy) girl respond with, “I am too willful to let His will be done. My own self-will gets in the way of letting him lead the way in a “no thanks, I’ve got it from here, God” kind of dialogue.” Honesty, something I love. I love her too. How many times do we say, “Okay God lead the way, I will follow”, only to find ourselves totally at the wheel again thinking we are...

A Hang Nail

Posted by on Jan 12, 2011 in General | 0 comments

What a week! I have had to really be intentional about finding “Fill Up” time. The funny thing is that each day as I head out and think “How will I get it all done?”, there is this grace that carries me throughout the day. So, even though it has been very busy I am still feeling like I am right in the flow of God’s plan for my day. He is with me, providing just what I need and sustaining me with each step. Last night, after one of these days, I came home after a speaking event and jumped into my jammies. I plopped...

Breaking up is HARD to do…

Posted by on Jan 9, 2011 in General | 1 comment

Ugh, is the only word I can think of thank goodness. I have come to find that no matter if you are the one breaking up or the one broken up with, it’s tough. It’s especially tough if you care deeply for one another. That just makes the cutting of the ties between the two of you that much more difficult. Letting go, moving forward and not looking back at the what if’s, someday or maybe’s. Staying too long at the break-up scene is like driving too  slow by an accident on the highway….do we really want or need to...

Ramblings, Life and “Ta-Da’s”

Posted by on Jan 6, 2011 in General | 0 comments

One of the challenging things I that I deal with in a few of my clients is the fact that somewhere along the way they stopped showing up for their life. Everyday we have to SHOW UP. Show up for our families, our jobs, our friends, the things we love, the things that are important. Just SHOW UP. I love the quote….. “Death is more universal than life; everyone dies but not everyone lives.”  Alan Sachs. Isn’t that the truth! All I can say is I want to LIVE my LIFE and live it well! One of the things that I decided a...

ONE WORD? Or maybe just a NAME….

Posted by on Jan 3, 2011 in General | 0 comments

If you have had any contact with me the last 2 weeks you know what “ONE WORD” means. I have been pushing the ONE WORD theme to help others define what 2011 will look like for them. It has been so exciting to hear what they come up with. There was a DO, because this person had not done anything much for years due to an accident. There was a FINISH, they had a lot of undone things in their life. There was a DISCOVER, PLAY, CRUISE, POSITIVE, SERVE, HARVEST, THRIVE, MOVE, WHOLE, SINCERITY, PASSIONATE, PEACE, BREATHE, OPPORTUNITY,...

The Journey Ahead

Posted by on Dec 31, 2010 in General | 0 comments

Get those blackeyed peas a cookin! Chronologically we’re at the end of a year, a parting ways of sorts. We are heading onto  new terrain, the beginning of an exciting new pilgrimage. A few thoughts as we prepare to shove off into 2011… Never forget, the only thing you really need…..you already have. The fullness of God’s mercy, love, grace and compassion’s that are found new every morning. He surrounds you, sustains you, protects you, enfolds you and equips us with what we need for the journey...

Always a Good Ending?

Posted by on Dec 30, 2010 in General | 1 comment

So Jackson, Grace and I were watching a movie last night, all snuggled in, when Jackson looked over at me and said, “Do they all end good?” I looked at him and said, “You mean movies?” He said, “Yes, do all movies end good?” I just had to laugh and say “Most, because they want us to feel good.” Isn’t it funny that my wonderful 10 year old boy knows that life is not that way and it feels weird that the world wants us to believe that. Truth is, not every storyline we live ends good/happy....

Still Wandering…..

Posted by on Dec 29, 2010 in General | 0 comments

Wandering and pondering still…. It is a funny thing, this “no man’s land” down time on the calendar. When we quiet our minds from the day to day hum that is usually present, we start to hear things that could not have been heard in the noise of the normal everyday. I have had to wrestle with a break-up from a wonderful man who even though fun, caring and loving was not the right one. UGH. There was no wrong or right it was just not a long term fit. I will blog more about this when it is not so fresh and painful. But in...

No Man’s Land

Posted by on Dec 27, 2010 in General | 0 comments

December 27th, this week seems to always be a time of exhaling, cleaning, returning, re-grouping and pondering the year we are getting ready to close out and the New Year approaching. It is a relaxed time with friends and loved ones with no more present, cooking or wrapping pressure. I LOVE this week. It’s kinda like no mans land on the calendar for me. As I am still sitting in bed (it is freezing cold and I can’t even think of getting up and out yet….the coffee is too good and the blankets are so warm) with Sunshine at my...
